No I agree with you it’s got a strong online base and in the top 5 - and the gap number wise is quite small. I also sometimes do feel with N5 and I might be in the minority here but they can’t seem to ever please the audience. I just wish they hadn’t put this show as part of the naagin franchise. Having seen some comments of the promo - people on social media are like Great but this is naagin where are naagin vibes then you have the group of people that just want Vani. I mean it’s not excuse for a poor storyline but it is confusing about what people want

@bold - yeah, and this is the other thing. If you never show the promo on TV, in India (as Colors has not done consistently the entire season), then people will forget a show is even on the air, esp on weekends when their focus is elsewhere. The promos that air in the UK won't contribute to ratings in India, and we only get to see it bc you/others post it online, so people like us who follow the show online are the only ones who see it, and the majority of us are international/watch online anyway.

@red - this frustrates me so much. If I get exhausted seeing the multiple contradictory requests from sections of the audience, I can imagine how tough it is for the writers to strike that balance. Don't get me wrong, they should be able to, it's their jobs, but you're right that no matter what they try, they can't ever get it right completely. I saw those comments on the promo too...on the one hand I get it, but on the other, people are like Vani is the only reason to watch, so they should be promoted above all else

In really uncharitable moments (😆) I feel like the section of the audience that's in it for anything other than the love story are what killed this season. IMO this season was less about the 'naagin/revenge vibes' and more about the forbidden love story between a naagin and a cheel, and it's only when they had to go back to those tropes that they messed things up (again, not excusing the writing, but under pressure they caved) and like you I really wish it had been something completely outside of this stupid franchise 😒🤔

Also colours isn’t faring well at all- their top performer CS is also dropping. Only BB is increasing but that’s down to the crazy promotion these guys do eveywhere on SM and on TV.

Yeah. But right now its too late to expect the makers will learn from their mistake and try to amend it to have the TRPs improve. With only a month remaining (even less since they are gonna do the entire crossover thing 🥱), they seem to have a chalta hai attitude. All the focus is on the new show.

The promotion for BB is INSANE. Even I, a non-BB viewer, seems to know everything happening on the show.

However the show might have been, but IB was a trendsetter man, I've actually heard of 2-3 shows more who have copied scenes from IB, not frame to frame like these guys did😂 but yeah!!

Exactly! I literally haven't watched anything on TV in years. Everything is streaming or using VPNs to watch things that don't air in my country.

Even IB suffered from poor ratings at the time though - we forget these things after they've stopped airing. Which is good, because in the end you want to remember the show, not the numbers, but IB's constant leaps and track changes came about because they were getting low ratings. On Star Plus. I remember an interview with Shrenu at the time the DIB leap was announced in which she said that they spent their entire run on the show living in the fear that the show would shut up shop tomorrow, it was that bad at times.

Agreed re: N5 being better as an online show. Even if they'd decided early on not to care about BARC TRPs and just write the story the way they wanted to, rather than bowing to pressures...it's like they tried to write a show with TVD/Lucifer-esque vibes inside a show about naagin lore. No wonder it fell apart.

I mourn the lost potential of this show, and these characters and their early vibes, so often 😒

Yes, and then she "died" and came back without her memories, and her abuser is now in loweeee with her and doesn't care about the mark on her face (that he gave her) so all is well

No offence to anyone who watches/likes that show, but how...just how do you find that love story okay in any way?

This is my point. If the TRP race was about one thing - i.e. story - then many of these shows wouldn't be getting the numbers they do. But clearly there are other factors at play, so it never feels like an even playing field.

The weird thing is once they show the promo herein the UK. Then they show it consistently. Like I will catch it three or four times more after 🤔 but we don’t count right so why don’t they do this in India 🤔 I mean surely that is marketing 101 right 🤔

I agree- I am in no way excusing the shoddy writing or editing job. But it just seems with this you can’t please the audience. I remember after every Vani episode seeing comments about revenge track dedo 🤔 I mean no offence but there was never any revenge to take really and it was pretty clear from the start. So what revenge 🤔 and now we are getting some half baked revenge plot but even then people are like what is this that- why did she take revenge you are right this series wasn’t about revenge and they should have never pitched it like that. It should have been pitched as forbidden love and that would have managed the audiences expectations way better.

I agree I think they’re just in lalala land with this show. Which is fine. Just give me solid Vani scenes. No memory loss nothing like that. I want them as a unit- hopelessly, madly and intensely In love. And I want a happy ending!

I mean the amount colours is paying the host and the contestants they need the TRP 😆

And here it was repetitive. Who likes to see a hero being hypnotized by any aira gaira?

Besides Sunday episode showed bholenath himself blessing vani to be together and then the writers showed a random fatistha acting higher than God and cursing the jodi he blessed..trp audience hates seeing that.

And also no happiness for the lead couple..nothing..people want some positivity in the weekends.

I feel bad for the actors but this trp fall..THE WRITERS DESERVED IT..😡.

(Not to disparage on another show here but) the marketing around this show before it aired was that this is a show with a "social message" and was going to depict an empowered woman...like sure, what kind of empowerment is this? Fall in love with your abuser, just coz one fine day he decides he's sorry he scarred your face for life, and spent the entirety of your marriage terrorising and gaslighting you? Talk about toxic love stories...🤔

This is why when I see people talking about SharBhi getting a Saurabh Tiwari show I'm like NO THANK YOU PLEASE. I don't want to see a repeat of this kind of show for them (not to mention, he also produced Madhubala 🤣)
