I can't believe she was once told she was not beautiful enough for bollywood😳

There are many instances that I look at photos and also admire the beauty or the particular features. This photo of Rekha is beautiful and captures her demure gesture to perfection. I like Rekha a lot and it may make me biased but always when the question is asked about beauty and who is top in the Hindi film industry, she is always high on my list. I have watched many of her films and not only is she lovely but her versatility and her grace made her films a delight to watch, the lady knows how to emote and deliver dialog and body language to perfection and the cameras loved her. Film making was very different during her peak and directors had a lot of influence on what they wanted the talent to perform, that has now changed.

Aside from the beauty the lady knows how to dance, something that unfortunately she did not get too much credit for, as people sometimes place a beautiful face and body in the hollow category, as if a beautiful person cannot be intelligent too. At any rate I enjoyed her dance performances and I believe that she had strong technical knowledge of it, a talent that makes a great dancer appear as if they are putting no effort into it when in reality their ability is superb.

She is stunning. Very few women even today at her age, command such admiration when she walks into an event, wearing her signature style, people pause to admire her. She is a master at wearing traditional clothing, that is why I laugh at new age starlets who think they have invented the art of looking glamorous or discovered the art of wearing a Saree and Jewelry. All people need to do is look up the thousands of images of Rekha and they will see a supreme example of Hindi beauty-you will have a hard time picking. It does not matter what age she is, she will forever be stunning, people move on but the history and the images remain (like athletic records-they do not get beaten often).

For me she is part of that golden time in film making not just Hindi but world wide, (Monroe-Loren-Bardot-Harlow-etc..) when a movie star was exactly that: a Diva who had to do it the hard way, because there was no photoshop, no filters, no botox, no stylist who picks your clothing, no easy cosmetic surgeries to be nipped and lifted etc...

I am sorry I wrote so much as an answer to your simple question, but I am very happy that you posted this, it is good to pause and give credit were it is due and admire someone who IS legendary. I do admire her, aside from beauty and talent the lady has beaten incredible odds all of her life, including being vilified by the media as well as people, for things that she had no control of or things that at best she was only 50% at fault in. She achieved all of it on her own, really without too much help, to this day she is still on her own, her success or her faults are hers alone. PLUS I have never heard her trash or talk evil about any one, even if she maybe knows a thing or two about the industry, she is always elegant and kind.

She was, is and will always be magnificent.

Few women have both beauty and attractiveness coupled with sensuality. Rekha is one such woman .

Her looks were her bane too ... my opinion .
