Hey guys. I know a lot of us are not happy after seeing the precap and lot of you all have already stopped watching the show for various reasons. I just wanted to share my thoughts.

First of all I firmly believe that if you're looking for good content ITV is not the platform for that. We have OTT for that, cos it has series with finite episodes. A finite series always allows the makers to experiment without any pressure..its like how movies are. So good content with creativity.

But ITV is a different platform altogether. They make shows that have to run for months/ years. Its difficult to sustain the whole essence beyond 50-60 episodes. I don't watch ITV shows...SM is the only one I've started watching due to Rati.

I might be wrong, but I don't know about any ITV show that ran for years and hadn't lost the plot and its whole essence with which it had started in the first place. Plus the trp pressure that the makers are put through is very unfortunate IMO. Trps don't allow them to experiment or bring new content. They are forced to show drama, most of the times illogical drama in the long run. That's the only reason all shows start looking the same beyond 2-3 months time, cos they always show the tried and tested formula.

Even the contemporary shows that are going on ITV are no different than SM. They all start with social issues and good content, and then they all end with family drama.

But I still feel SM is a bit different, cos here the leads are atleast together in this whole drama unlike other shows where there's lack of trust and understanding..and then the whole vamp drama and separation due to misunderstandings. KeerTi are definitely different for me atleast😳

Sorry for the long post. Just thought of sharing my views. Enjoy the show and KeerTi while it lasts is all I wanna say😊 hopefully Nandini drama will end soon and we'll get to see our fav tracks :)

Btw this is SM's director's interview. He's so frank about the content on TV and OTT. Can't blame them completely. His interview kind of asserts my post

You told us to cheer up and here i have a reason which will double the cheer. 🄳

Read below -

On Tuesday, Javadekar said, ā€œThe main issue is to ensure greater transparency in the TRP system and the transparency today is based on 55,000 meters (for calculating TRP) area. The area needs to be expanded so that there is no scope of manipulation. We have received the report and after discussing it, we will hand it over to TRP agency BARC and issue it certain directions based on the committee’s recommendations. This report is a huge step.ā€

The report of the committee has not been made public as the ministry and officials are yet to go through it, an official spokesperson told news agency PTI. Media reports said that the report recommended greater transparency in measuring TRPs and also expanding the existing base of households used to measure the ratings. The latter would prevent manipulation, the panel noted.

The Times of India reported that the report emphasized the need to look at ā€œtechnological solutionsā€ that universalise samples and capture the diversity and scale of TV viewing in India. This would include taking into account people who watch TV on mobile, which the report said is used by a large number of viewers to access TV content.

I agree with you completely.

Present system is a total waste.

Need to be changed.

How come 55000 house hold with on an average 4 members i.e 220000 persons can show what 130 crore people want to see.

Government is doing good job.

Waiting for the new system.

Never thought that trp manipulation scam will be sooo powerful that it will change the whole rating system. Really glad seeing government interference will be bringing highly positive outcome. Really excited for the new age rating system.

I agree with you. Once I use to watch every show of star plus.. from Kahaani ghar ghar ki to kahi kisi roj šŸ˜† all stories are of similar pattern that did not change now also... I stopped watching shows after hitler didi show ended..

SM is the only show I am watching regularly and believe me it is really different. We always crave that leads always stay with each other without any misunderstanding and discuss everything maturely... that is happening in SM.. good to see some refreshing scenes in SM... all are very good actors in the show is adding flavour to the show..

Even I say enjoy the show till it lost without regrets..

TRPs I can never understand 🤪so I decided to ignore them and enjoy my show..

I get what you are saying but this show had the potential storyline for around a year considering the show they had set up. They ruined all that by getting KT and Preeti married and making Kusum's role into a cameo. The TRP hasn't really shot up if that is what they were trying to do so why not get back to what the show was supposed to be rather than just concentrating on KT, Preeti and Nandini. They could have given a good focus to the Kothari side of the story to maintain the essence but they have almost ruined that as well.

I agree that Kusum’s role shouldn’t be just a cameo.. she should get more imp in the show and I hope they do that now cuz she’s definitely one of the integral part of the show

However the TRP did go to up a lot with the wedding. Right before Rati’s entry it was 1.2-1.3... with the wedding the TRP went up to 1.6, and recently the TRP was 1.7 which is the highest for SM. So the TRP did go up.. however they messed it up now by dragging this Nandini track. They should show the climax to this track ASAP and move on onto the next track.

It’s a given fact that wedding always shots up TRP for any shows.

KeerTi are the leads so obviously they will have the most importance and the most screen space in the show.. Kusum’s imp is being occupied by Nandini right now šŸ¤”.... they need to move on from this and get back on track, which is SM, KeerTi’s relationship progression and focus on Kusum as well.

I do agree that wedding shouldn’t have happened so fast... however this is ITV and we really cannot expect anything better ... most shows show rushed weddings of the leads.
