This is the nature of the people low on self esteem and who try to appease everyone in life. They know in their heart that they have the back of their supporters so they gather courage to say no to them and are comfortable doing that. But in an effort to appease the ones that are not their supporters, they overlook all their wrongdoings and encourage them further to do wrong in the process. I would think people who lack confidence would least want to upset the people who care about them and support them the most, but these things are complicated I guess
