Damn you are a really really brilliant and genius student. I am impressed. But feeling a bit inferior talking to someone like you because I don't have such good brain and mind like you. A tad jealous too. Sorry. God bless you dear. Lots of love ❤️

In my college (in Delhi University ) there was an anti-ragging squad composed of some adults/teachers/security who’d roam around the campus and break up any such scenario. Plus they took the id card of students if caught ragging and suspended them etc . So seniors never really got a chance.

Once our 2nd years organized an informal intro session for 1st years and we were just made to introduce ourselves one by one but the teachers broke it up. Only formal freshers event was allowed.

In my hostel (separate/non college), the senior girls made us sing/dance etc with some adult jokes and all. I didnt like it- nothing major but it made me Slightly uncomfortable.

But my college was very strict about ragging, 0 tolerance policy.

Something similar happened in the boys hostel of my college. The 2nd year students were caught with the freshers with their pants down literally. The cooks of the mess had caught them. We were in our 3rd yr then. And yes, it was a premier engineering institute. Police got involved, students got suspended but nobody was arrested as the ragged boys didn't want their names involved in such an incident.

Ragging of girls was mostly limited to saying double meaning stuff while giving your intro, singing and entertaining the seniors. Being asked to wish them 'Good morning/evening' whenever you cross them in the hostels, don't look them in the eyes n stupid stuff like that. Oh also, we weren't supposed to wear jeans outside the hostel till the 1st quarter got over. Had to wear ethnic(which I was really short of).

I'm from Delhi University but I never attended hostel so I didn't encounter this personally, but I know it happens for sure.

What did you do to stop this atrocity?
