Debut award like most winners is a popular award. Of all these films, SOTY was the only one that gained any audience appreciation (successful box office). You may think that other actresses performed better critically but Ananya was easily most liked by audiences at large and that's why she won.

I like Ananya in SOTY2. She was the only character with complexity and a story that had potential. KJo just couldn't take it to the next level to actually make it good, as usual. I think Ananya did a great job with what she was given.

Having said that I had the best time watch Pranutan. She was delightful and so was the movie.

Ananya was good enough ❤️

She totally deserved the award...and acc. to me it's a grave injustice she didn't win.
