I don’t live in India no - but I’m reasonably informed on the issue. Like I said - he should’ve been circumspect about his words - but they are being taken greatly out of context. Nikki is treating Rakhi in a discriminatory manner. What that stems from is anyone’s guess.

As for Nikki getting into trouble - that’s a stretch, and one I don’t agree with. Aise toh bullying too is a serious issue, with what all goes on in universities especially - but it’s a staple on this show almost every season - and bullies get plenty of support.

Yes, some do blindly go by what some celebs say, but I would give most of the viewership the benefit of the doubt, in that they’d being using their own brains. And for me - the problem isn’t that a controversial word was used - because I don’t see why anyone would connect it with caste, unless that’s the specific agenda. The problem is how Nikki is treating Rakhi.
