Leela Shah needs treatment

I am speechless at the rate which Leela transforms from concerned to strict and then mad at Anupama. Atleast she has once stance towards Kavya and she cannot stand her sight. But with Anupama, she goes from grateful to thankless in 2 seconds. During Bapuji's illness, when Anu consented for the surgery and even now when Anu did not donate blood at first go.

Her "Mera Beta" rant is getting hard to hear. For literally eveything....

If there is one root cause of all the kalesh in this serial, it is Leela Shah🤢

I know there has been debate in the forum about Leela before, but I knew from the second she slapped Vanraj that this woman is not an ally. She has been baisti'd by COUNTLESS folks on her shameless nature to stand by her disgusting son, and yet she still has not learned. She does not care. As she said 'mamta sai aur galat nahi dekhti'. I hoped this show would only go the Bengali version way so that Kavya could insult and taunt Leela to the point of despair. But even that seems like it won't be happening. I don't have any hope for the women on this show, from Nandini telling Samar to forgive his father, Pakhi's immaturity, Dolly's lack of intuition, Leela's unabashed shamelessness, Kavya's vileness, Rakhi's misdirected anger and Anupama's lack of spine. This show is inherently misogynistic and there is nothing in the narrative that is empowering, and it hasn't been thus far. Even Anupama learning to drive or getting her job back, what was the point if those things are now being used to cater to Vanraj? Especially when we know that Leela will definitely try to do Vanraj's seva but Anupama won't be able to bear seeing it so will step in. That does not make Anupama a kind woman, it makes her a spineless one. When her mother told her that she took care of this family for 25 years and to now let Vanraj handle it all, Anupama should have taken her mother up on that offer. Anupama should have left a long time ago and leave Leela to her chaheeta beta.

👏 Everything on point. What a brilliant summary only if makers could read this. Every character is a mess and the accident plot is the final nail on the coffin. Though, them all catering Vanraj and Anu being a superwoman isn't going to get any pleasing to watch!

My mom watched the episode on TV and literally said this, "Baa thinks that she is a puppeteer and everyone ahould be dancing on her strings. When they do, she is contended, when they dont, she is offended and ruins the strings."😷

I've given up, I was excited for the slap that Kavya received but even that is so deeply steeped in the existing misogyny of this show. Kavya gets a slap for behaving the way she did on Toshu's precious day, but the man who cheated for 8 years with ZERO REMORSE gets nothing? Disgusting. And now we have to watch Anupama do his seva? Absolute trash. Progressive ka naam leke aur SADIYON purani soch ko aage karna koi Star Plus se seekhe. Nayi soch my foot lol.

AND REALLY what does Baa do ke ITNA ZYADA guroor hai usme?? Uske beta toh adulterer nikla so WHAT IS SHE STANDING ON!!! Honestly she drives my every nerve just so annoying. And to continue showing these kinds of women on ITV like what does that achieve? Would it kill ITV writers to show a saas who actually CARES about her bahu? Who supports her and loves her and wants the best for her, because they do exist. And perhaps in showing it more, people watching the shows are transformed.

I only recall Sasuraal Genda Phool, starring Ragini Khanna, which kind of subverted the common tropes of Indian serials.

The show was grounded in reality, characters had a defined personality, conflict stemmed from genuine issues and importantly, every action or event had consequences even for the main characters.

And the relationship between MIL and the DIL was extremely cordial and genuine.

I haven't followed lot of television for quite a few years but that was the last show I remember that did not relied upon melodrama and outdated ideas.

Ya me too. I am not even watching from the last 3 episodes or so. Anu behaving all soft for Vanraj is not working well for me. They make face when they see Kavya - that is good. But with Vanraj it is like EMA never happened. Some level of Hypocrisy this family has.

You are right about misogyny. They are making a villain out of Kavya and Rakhi but they completely sidelined what a jerk that Vanraj is. Like that wasn't enough they are gathering sympathy for him

There is never going to be Nayi Soch, there is an Interview Article on IF from the maker. Where he is pretty much defining how regressive women and modern women should behave. And how the plot/characters in this drama are so realistic.

I still can't get over that they glorified dolly/arthi dialogue as if it was something brilliant to say😔

Imagine being a man and patting yourself on the back because you think the women in your show are so progressive for sitting there and internalizing abuse? OMG the dolli/arthi dialogue nearly killed me I almost threw my laptop on the ground. What kind of regressive, nonsensical and ANCIENT world view.
