Which one is the better romantic 90's movie according to you?

For me back then, Dil to Paagal Hain. I used to love watching this movie as a kid and the whole made-for-each-other thingie used to make me root for the characters which Madhuri and SRK were playing. I used to wait with bated breath for Madhuri's character to appear on screen because Madhuri was my favourite actress back then and I used to find her so beautiful. I even asked my mom to buy me the same salwar suit which Madhuri was wearing😆

In Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, I didn't find the same sweet spot for any of the characters. The first half used to just make me sad, because I hated the scenes when SRK was into Rani😆

Tell me your favorite of the two movies😊

KKHH. The only character I liked in DTPH is Karishma’s one .

Adult me doesn't like either but I would anyday choose KKHH over DTPH which is too OTT melodrama and cheesy for me. KKHH on other hand is entertaining though silly😂

Anyday KKHH over DTPH since I feel DTPH was too unrealistic and cheese👍🏼

I remember not understanding a thing about DTPH and getting pretty bored and falling asleep eventually.🥱

But KKHH is another ball game altogether. It is also a much superior movie in terms of the narrative and overall a more wholesome package. Not to mention, it aged really well!

OMG. You have made it really hard for me to choose. I just cannot decide which one is a bigger trash 😕

Both were visually appealing films, with great cinematography, songs and locations.

KKHH had a more whole wholesome value to it, while DTPH was made to appeal to the youth at that time.

But I think DTPH inadvertently delivered a good message with Karisma GETTING OUT of her one-sided love after realizing Rahul doesn't loves/will never her.

I preferred her angle of the story more than SRK-Madhuri's.😆

While SRK & Kajol's whole arc in KKHH was sort of silly with Anjali falling in love out of nowhere, then leaving college and then deicing to "settle" with Aman, and then meeting Rahul again at summer camp and then ditching Aman.

It was too soapy, OTT and never-possible-in-real-life story for me to digest.😆

Still, voted for KKHH coz it emerged as a better film and has more repeat value.

I found them both unrealistic. Never cared for this one person created just for you nonsense which Hindi films tend to peddle. Give me a more realistic love story like Saathiya any day. Lata's voice was terrible in DTPH and didn't suit either of the heroines. I don't know one character in KKHH who didn't irritate me. Karan and his love for Archies and Riverdale. Rani's matchmaking from the death bed looked terribly odd. But I didn't find the same trope objectionable in Kalank when Sonakshi did it. Probably because she didn't manipulate a child to matchmake for Daddy. Or maybe it was because Sonakshi was shown regretting this decision, feeling jealousy and breaking down in private in front of her husband. Her character had layers.
