YES. As a South Indian myself I have actually been saying this for a long time, pretty sure I've said it on this very forum before...

Anything people find wrong with Bollywood- be it nepotism, repetitive mindless masala flicks, regressive scenes/stories, item numbers... it's all x10 in Tollywood 😆

During Bahubali 1, some girl named Annapurna Sunkara criticized how Bahubali disrobed Avantika in a song..and how it was wrong cos Avantika didnt give consent for it and people bashed her so much..I was literally shocked. She made some really valid points. South fans are so touchy 🤔

If I am not wrong, item songs is an invention of South cinema too. While there is nothing wrong with it as i consider it as a form of art, it is one of the blessings of the regressive portrayal of women in movies.

Samantha is one of the few actresses of that generation who is actually South Indian... she's Tamil I'm pretty sure

She doesn't look Tamil though. Must have some kind of foreign or North Indian blood. Which others are South Indian

It's probably all the surgery and skin lightening lol, she looked quite different before that 😆

And other South Indian heroines from that generation in Tollywood that I know of are Anushka Shetty, Trisha Krishnan and Nayanthara...

Obviously more recently there's many more, which is good I guess
