I think the best part about the movie was the friendship between these two unlikely characters, Veronica and Meera. It's a friendship you wanna root for, and defies the logic and convention of most female friendships, at least in the beginning. There is no hint of rivalry, there is only camaraderie and a shared sisterhood.
I think the friendship was the most beautiful part about the movie, it was heart-warming to the core and made me invested in the movie.
Of course, the trope of a man coming in between them was Bollywoodish and the most overused trope in cinematic history, but before this actually happens, the movie does venture into unchartered territory where two female leads despite very different backgrounds and natures, share such a warm, caring and sisterly bond. I watch the movie not for the romantic triangle but for this beautiful friendship which exists in that languorous period just before Saif interrupts it.
Both Veronica and Meera were flawed, but I loved the way they didn't disown those messy, mercurial parts of themselves, and accepted each other in this most wholesome way.
how many of you feel that this friendship was the best part of the movie?
