I know we have discussed in detail on this forum about how Baa is being unreasonable when it comes to her treatment of Kinjal. Additionally we have also noticed how Pakhi Madame is all-of-a-sudden getting possessive about her mother since she is not getting that attention anymore.
But one question I would love to ask Baa, Anupamaa and you, the viewers is this:
What do the offsprings in her own house: Vanraj, Paritosh, Samar and Paakhi know about household duties and responsibilities? Despite all of them being 13+, have they ever even washed or folded their own clothes? Do they know how to cook their own food? Do they know how to keep things back in their own place and do their own things on their own? I have included Samar even though I know that along with Kinjal, he is more than happy to help with chores, but his mother and grandmother have never let him do them. Baa has been so particular about making Anu an unpaid household help, that she has not paid attention to what goes on under her nose. And if she comes up with a regressive male/female analogy, how come her own daughter is educated and earning as well as taking care of the household? In that case why does Paakhi neither have a traditional sense of dressing (salwar suits) nor manners nor knows how to do any chores?
That reminds me, please let Toshu take up a job now, which is not dependant on his in-laws. He looks way too carefree and happily married in this financial crunch situation. Part-time toh kar hi sakta hai! They can show progress on Samar's classes and call center job too and how he manages to despite all hurdles make himself and his mother financially secure. I rest my case on Baa's hypocrisy surrounding Anu going out and working and leaving the house to burn coz everyone has a responsibility to take care of the house they all so conveniently live in, both monetarily and emotionally. It is should not be Anu's burden alone.
