Why is SRK'd ego a question atall. He is an actor, his star status (then or now) should not be at all a parameter when writing or filming such a scene.

But if you raise such a question, I wonder why not raise it for Madhuri as well. She was much bigger star than him in the 90's, but she was beaten even by a supporting actor (Kalpana Iyer) and much more humiliated than him in this movie, then why only his star status is an issue?
