Comparing their initials movies - Kiara is a much better actress than DP.

By those standards, Kiara's 25 lakhs is it equivalent to 3-4 crore opening in normal times. Quite decent for an upcoming actress who's yet to establish herself.

Panga and Thappad also released before the pandemic set in.

Last year, Mardaani and The Sky is Pink also collected less than Chapaak on its opening day.

And yes, none of them had the heroine playing a disfigured version of herself in a grim documentary-style film clashing with a larger-than-life period film pandering to patriotic tastes.
