They are rushing it to also move forward with time I believe. Because Sai is just fresh out of her school, an episode of abduction-attempted rape-marriage and also the loss of her father. I think they would want to take the time forward by a few months at least to show the actual love story blossoming, which also makes sense.

I wasn't talking about the love story, just her college admission and stuff.
