Dialogue delivery is more important than emoting. If you can’t bring variation in your tone and inflection then whatever you say lacks any depth or meaning. This is why Obama the drone striker in chief is still revered by people. He’s great at delivering his speeches no matter how hollow and pedestrian

Deepika can’t emote either tbh and that’s she’s called a star and not an actor or artist .. and has a weak dialogue delivery which makes no impact no matter how emotional the scene is ..

Deepika can't emote either, hence she gets criticized.

And no dailogue delivery isn't about diction or clear pronounciation, it is about delivering the dailogue keeping the emotions and situation in mind, which the likes of Kangana and Sridevi do very well. People in the forum seems to confuse clear diction with dialogue delivery. Kangana doesn't have bad dailogue delivery, her issue is diction. And that isn't her fault either as she has lisp of somekind.

You made some good points

Deepika fails at emoting quite often and her dialogue delivery is strictly okay. Some of the best Deepika movies is where Deepika is clearly a weaker actor compared to the cast, and not compared to let's say Ranveer or Priyanka but the supporting cast as well.

As many pointed out as well more than Kangana's problem isn't so much with dialogue delivery but it is with diction. They way she speaks is weird, even in real life. That is why she is the easiest actress to mimic for mimicry artists. When she is doing an accent like in TWM2 as Datto I saw no problem with her diction (I also don't know what proper Haryana accent sounds like so forgive me). On the other hand Deepika is still weird when she is doing an accent.

Nice question!

However emoting says a lot than dialogue delivery. But for masses and majority of public DIALOGUE DELIVERY matters. Who has the time to see what an actor's eyes say?!

Best example in my mind is Hrithik in Agneepath.

He emoted and acted extremely well way different from Amitabh's acting but there were only a few dialogues given to him. People during that time didn't really like Hrithik in the film. All people liked was dialogue deliveries by Rishi Kapoor and Sanjay Dutt.

I enjoyed the movie a lot but felt bad for Hrithik as he was not given meaty dialogues and people criticized him.
