Flaw in voting system

I have found a major flaw in the voting system for FG & Indian Idol.

Since they eliminate 2 contestants every week, it would be better if they
ask people to vote for that person whom they think has sung the worst.
This will work well because in the existing system, it is very likely
that a person who has sung moderately well, but was
completely unnoticed by people as compared to other singers may get
eliminated as any individual voter would give at maximum 3 or 4 votes
and his name may not be in any of them.
So he might get eliminated as compared to someone who has not sung
well, but got some votes as either the highlight was on him or has moderate fan following.

i would say that it would be better if people
are asked to vote for that person who they think has sung the worst.
Then they can eliminate that contestant who has got maximum votes.
This will work perfectly well in a scenario where you want to eliminate
just 1 or 2 contestants out of many.

for example - most ppl want arpita out .. but i dont think they would vote in huge numbers to get her out. it sounds ridiculous .. on the other hand ppl would vote in huge numbers to save a particular person .. say arijit for example.

I think you are right. People will not want to spend their money voting for someone they don't like. But they would not mind voting multiple times for someone they support.

I was thinking the thing when we were watching American idol last year.It is much easy to vote for one person than for 5-6 people.

yes its easy to vote for one person than 10 persons.
But SONY is doing all this for collecting money rather than doing a competition

but arpitha will definitely compete with qazi if cool aquarian system of voting is implemented 😆
