He didn't want to become a roadblock on her way of success. He didn't want to become a burden on her. Arohi would've ended up becoming her babysitter in the relationship. So he made a sacrifice by committing suicide.
Yes, love alone doesn't fix, but if he too cooperated, went to physiciatrist, rehab, got himself checked, then love would have helped na?
I agree it showed reality though, but seeing so many movies where love heals everything, even if reality is known, want to seek unreal expectation in movies, happy endings
