i think preeta was somehow aware of his feelings but she chose to ignore it. because kareena always blamed her that she is after rishabh as he is the one with property. also when rishabh partially confessed his feelings to preeta in karan and monisha's engagement, it was so obvious that she intentionally ignored it. may be because she was already engaged to prithvi. preeta ne bus hans k taal diya.

But rishabh is a good character which can't be ignored

I felt bad for him when sherlyn made him the villain in front of everyone when all he has ever done since they got married was to think the best for her
