Assuming they are Hindus , is she her real niece ? Even then not illegal , if it has been a customary practice in his clan or community..

tamil nadu until the last generation had this practice of uncle marrying niece. ( man can marry his sisters daughter)

I remember when there used to be debates around some Islamic countries practicing the tradition of marrying your cousins, I read that this tradition exists in some places in the South. Frankly, I think India needs to enforce a complete ban on such practices. Chi yaar.

Lol it is a thing in South Indian communities (Tamil, Telugu, Malayali, idk about Kannada though)...

But it has become very rare in the current generation, especially among more urban/educated groups... it is mostly seen as an old fashioned/gavaar thing today 😆

A country's law should be same for all. I don't understand why a certain religion always gets the perks of practicing different laws for themselves. Rome mein ho toh Roman ho nahin toh Pakistan jao.
