So, I feel like I was an absolute ass here n didn't tell u about the things I enjoyed in this piece!
First, the thing I enjoy the most in ur works is the way u stick true to their characters from the show, yet expand them in your own way to fit into your story!! This is the truest in the magic that is your Chahat! And it's true here too.
I also like the part where he realises how far he has come from the initial days! This should definitely happen in the show too. The Binoy being like yeh toh hai hi joru ka ghulam is so funny coz duh, Anirudh hundred percent is!! 😆Also as always I enjoy the dynamics u create between them in all ur pieces.
You are awesome for writing this piece coz even today all of us r still musing about it. And if a piece gets you to think further, then ur job as a writer is done!
Also, I feel like a huge shout out to ur A voluptuous nickname is very much needed coz u got them to switch their surnames in that n lemme tell u Anirudh Das really gets me going!! U r one heck of a woman for challenging the status quo! Thank you for writing. Consider me your evergreen fan. 🥳
Thank You so much.
I will wait for your review on Chahat❤️
Maybe because I write fanfics based on the main plot I stick to their characters.
@Bold That's a heavy word to use I am not worth it.
But thank you!😊
Copy pasting my view about the earlier argument:
I am a sociology student so bear with me please,
About the first surname which is mostly dad's in all parts of the world, Its a very complex issue considering there are matrilineal and patrilineal societies in the world where some follow the mother's lineage while others follow the father's lineage. In the community I am born in, the children take their mother's family name so I really don't have an idea about how to solve that issue considering both of it takes place and this age old practice of having a surname is tough to dilute too. That's why even though most probably the Das in Bondita is from her father, I really do not see it as a problem and she will always be Bondita Das for me.
Yes, having just a name is the best option but it is kind of Utopian to me considering this conditioning that human race went through of having a surname which is difficult to erase and I feel at the end of the day whether or not to have a surname (not by marriage) is one's personal choice and they can choose either their mother's or father's.
Here i just put the light on a conversation that may happen between Aniruddh and Bondita because quite often Aniruddh proclaiming Bondita Roy Chowdhary kind of irks me. Bondita Das was her birth name, which was given to her by Sumati and Arvind (her father) and I think changing it just because she got married is a bit bizarre and our Bondita may question it.
It was just a scene I wrote and never wanted any debate surrounding it, I just wanted people to take just what I wrote from it and I thought they may get that a person who puts this points forward may also know her initial name is also quite patriarchal but no, people didn't get it and alas, My OS turned into a debate which is why I refrain from writing such pieces quite often.
