parineeti is extremely talented , she can pull off the part

Vidya as Silk Smitha, Sonam as Neerja, Aamir as Mahavir Phogat, Farhan Akhtar as Milkha Singh,Sushant as Dhoni... the list goes on. None of them looked like who they were playing. When did looking like the personality become so important in a bollywood biopic?

Parineeti is a better actor than Shraddha. She will do justice to the film and the personality more than Shraddha. Bas that's enough.

Casting directors are rarely involved with casting leads especially if it's a name actor. For others they bring directors and producers choices, but it's not their final choice.

Here the director and/or producer seems to have gone with acting talent and the ability to become the character not just look the character or be pretty - which is the right decision.

Saina Nehwal is an Olympic medalist. Sania Mirza isnt.

Regarding popularity, both are very famous.
