She does have Kashmiri features though.. her biological dad could be middle eastern for all we know. Her sisters look more firangi than her for some reason

She is 100% White. The Kashmiri dad was a made-up story. Her father's name is Ronald Turcotte. Ayesha Shroff has herself admitted that they made up the Kashmiri dad story.

She doesn't look European to me. Midde Eastern, Turkish, maybe but not 100% European. I believe her mom remarried. We will never know until Kat herself clarifies.

There are several languages in India. Cross the Vindhyas, majority won't speak "proper" Hindi though they might understand it from movies and such. Sridevi being an example. Hema Malini has an accent still after so many decades. Some of best artists in Indian cinema come from Bengal and Assam and Kerala and Marathi-speaking areas. They might know only rudimentary Hindi.

It's not at all necessary to know Hindi to be considered Indian.

However, Bollywood functions in Hindi. Those who seek work there should prob learn the language.

I don’t see how whitewashing becomes an issue when non Hindi speaking actresses are hired, though.

The long nose and long face.. black hair & also complexion. I have seen many Kashmiri muslim girls look like her. But then, some women in the gulf look like that too.

I wonder if she was born out of wedlock that's why hushed up or someone in the family had Middle eastern genes.

It's ok when they play characters who are supposed to have some foreign connection...

But having them play fully Indian girls who are supposed to be born and raised in India just does not look right at all, but in Katrina's case that is more due to the accents than looks.

Katrina is fair but she definitely looks more desi than English...

And Jackie looks very ambiguous racially... I would guess Eastern European or Latina... she actually neither looks nor sounds Indian tbh, so she never fits regular Indian girl roles.
