For me movies that were popular mainstream are not cult hits, they are just hits overall.

Lootera is cult hit in my opinion. It didn't appeal to the masses but the people who loved them really loved them and acted like it is one of the best films ever created.

Tumbadd as well. Not a box office hit but big fan following.

There are two things here - cult films and cult hits. A cult film is any film that has a cult following, although the term is not easily defined and can be applied to a wide variety of films.

Cult hits are films that have a cult following + have become hits.

By that definition, Dabangg is definitely a cult hit. Chulbul Pandey is considered iconic among a subsection of the audience.

Kabir Singh can also be considered a cult hit.

A superstar is someone who has great popular appeal and is widely known, prominent, or successful in their field. Celebrities referred to as "superstars" may include individuals who work as actors, musicians, athletes, and other media-based professions.

By this definition, Kangana is definitely a Superstar. She's popular, widely known and prominent if not successful in her field.

Sidharth Shukla can also be considered a Superstar.
