Both have their limitations. Ayushmann is one-note, Ranveer is OTT.

But because I love Ayushmann, I'll pick him❤️

I could never imagine Ranveer in Andhadhun, Badhaai Ho, Dream Girl or Bala.

But I can totally see Ayushhmann doing all Ranveer roles like in Lootera, Bajirao Mastani, Padmaavat and Gully Boy.

See? This argument can even be used for the other side.

True. Ranveer is good in larger-than-life roles, he would have spoiled movies like Andadhun, Dream Girl and Badhai Ho completely.

Also, his exaggerated, over-the-top mannerisms(except in GullyBoy) are a complete put-off.

I have realized that toned down emotions are hard to pull off and we don't consider that "great acting". The reason why that happens is that, really great actors make it absolutely effortless. Subtly has its own beauty!

The excellence of regular, relatable and normal portrayal, which is not really regular in its process...it takes an absolute GENIUS to pull that off. Nawazuddin Siddiqui in lunchbox is one such example.

Keeping that in mind, I think Ayushmann is a stronger actor than Ranveer.

The only performances of Ranveer I liked was Bajirao and Gully Boy. Ayushman is pretty one note. Both are quite average actors.

Yup I agree nuances and subtlety are something general Bollywood audience don't understand. People think loud and theatrical performance is good acting and overlook the small details that make a character.
