I consider self made when you did movies without big banners and without big directors, started out in low budget movies and became star like ayushmann or srk, irfan and vidya in tv shows first

Also Deepika was dating Malaya and Ranbir, so how can it be said that she was having no guidance or recommendations? If Salman was guiding and recommending Katrina, can't Ranbir (who was a big name from his very first film and belongs to the kapoor khandaan) guide or recommend her?

Katrina did a dozen of small banner movies with Akshay and got upgraded to big banners as the masses were latoo over her and each of her movie then was 100 crore grosser. Salman was also recommending Zarine and Daisy and Jacquline. So what? It's her popularity that got her the big names wanting to sign her. Not to mention that Katrina never did the PR stunts like cleavage and depression drama or was using her ex's name to gain popularity.

If it's about net talent, than only Vidya and Kangana (minus her media drama) have made it big on their own.

What movies she got by being recommended by any of them?

Most Deepika’s movies are reject by others actresses meaning that if they didn’t reject it she wouldn’t have Ram-Leela or Piku or Chennai express none of them. RK recommended Kat, Kat refused and they went with DP. Tell me which movie where DP got recommended by any of those men?

The depression portion is very low but I am not expecting any less from Kat’s stans. They will go any low to defend her. If DP used her ex to stay in the news then Kat also used Salman to get ahead. You think she likes that man who abused her physically? No but she has no one else. That’s the true. When you have salman khan, one of the most powerful individuals in the world you don’t need any PR stunt.

Also advising is very different from being recommended.

You can take advice from Gandhi if you want. Doesn't mean your career success is because of Gandhi. If he returned to life and talked to your boss, it would be a recommendation. In which case you WOULD owe him your career.

Like it or not, Deepika is self-made. I wish people like Radhika Apte had half the drive Deepika does. Because DP is a poor actress. Still, credit should be given where it's due. Her success is all hers.

How terrible was Kareena when she started out? Yet because of her connections she kept getting films and eventually she did improve her skills and gave some good performances. I don't mind her making it because help or no help, she did work hard and improved herself. Just like that if any Nepo kid improves themselves I will watch them. And we can reserve the right to blast countless Nepo kids who continue to suck despite repeated chances.

Some outsiders may thrive simply because of their other skill (like dancing or being sexy) or because of their beauty or simply because they have found a patron. Not all outsiders have acting talent. But the ones who do, they need to be appreciated.
