Katrina and Alia are not self-made stars?

I look at it this way: Alia would be nowhere without Karan Johar and Katrina would be nowhere without the backing of Salman Khan. They both benefitted from numerous opportunities because of these connections.

On the other hand, look at Deepika. Completely self-made in every respect of the word. Though her father was a famous sportsperson, she made it through hard work and love of audiences.

Katrina would have disappeared after her disastrous debut if it wasn't for her relationship with Salman, who offered her a break in his production.

Alia would be nowhere without the backing of Karan Johar, who has carefully curated her career from scratch.

Alia we all know she got so many good opportunities because she’s Mahesh Bhatt’s daughter . Katrina cos of her relation with sallu like she can’t act ...

I wouldn’t consider Deepika self made as she did have a famous father and that does make it easier ..

For me the stars that are truly self made are Vidhya Balan , Anushka Sharma , Priyanka Chopra , SRK , Ayushmann Khurrana , Aishwarya rai , Siddharth Chaturvedi , Madhuri dixit .. they have no filmy background , no famous parent ..

It was Kat’s beauty more than anything else that got her where she is. No one would have cared if she wasn’t so beautiful. Not even Salman.

Madhuri wasn’t even looking to star in movies, it was pure luck.

I think one needs looks, talent and luck too. Many people have looks and talent as well but they fail to pull crowds or never get a debut. Many star kids get movies early but never do well and flop. So what apart from luck is needed to sustain a career in movies? Personality? Smartness?

That's likely as accurate as Kareena going to Harvard. Or all the beauty queens having their photo sent in by a friend.😆

Madhuri acted in a bunch of flops until finding success with Tezaab. Someone who didn't want to do movies would've quit after the first one.

But that said, I think Katrina is more deserving than Alia... at least Katrina was (naturally) very beautiful with a great figure to boot in back in her heyday, making her very watchable (and an instant hit with the launde lapade 😂)...

Plus she had this certain vibe of positivity and freshness which makes you really believe she’s a good person, and that has given her a lot of genuine fan following too...

Alia on the other hand comes across rude and entitled, and has no looks to speak of. She is a purely PR made star.

If it wasn’t for Kjo, Alia should have disappeared along with the Esha Deol, Tusshar Kapoor, Zayed Khan types.

Deepika got a grand debut in an SRK movie which was a ready made Blockbuster. Won best debut award for a role where her voice was dubbed.

Then gave a string a Flops with few Hits here and there, specifically where she starred opposite Saif.

Then again worked in big movies co-starring with SRK, ex-boyfriend and then current boyfriend.

Take a look at Deepika's filmography and her major Hits are with SRK, Ranbir, Ranveer and Saif. Without them, she struggles in giving Hits just like Kangana.

So if Katrina is not self-made then neither is Deepika.

Edit : To make sure that nobody twists my words, I want to make this clear that I don't believe that Deepika is not self-made. I'm questioning the logic of TM that how she's calling Katrina not self-made.

If merit can be anything, then Katrina's merit was to make Salman her godfather, otherwise Salman has dated many actresses, but he didn't help anyone like Katrina. That is Kat's networking skills.
