Background - Kirti has organised a Navratri/Dandiya night.
(As she seems to be super rich and has helped Rudraksh to get over his ban with her contacts).đ
Sharda, very kindly decided to look after Saransh as he has early morning classes to attend.
Preesha dressed up in beautiful green coloured ghagra choli with stone embroidery on it. As always she looked breathtaking.
They were in the car and Rudra couldn't help but steal glancing at her. This way he was trying to compliment her. How beautiful she is looking. How breathe taking it is for him.
Preesha, on the other hand, knew that his way adoring her is different today. As they say, actions speaks more than words.
They both were happy in that tiny moment of happiness.
They reached the venue and were warmly welcomed by Kirti.
Kirti - Oh my god, Preesha you look gorgeous.
She said in her sugar coated voice.
Preesha - thanks.
Kirti - Please enjoy 'yourself'
She said stressing on the word 'yourself'
Preesha understood her taunt.
Preesha got seated in one of the corner tables, taking a view of the venue. It was beautifully decorated.
Rudraksh and Kirti were busy in meeting Kirti's friends, contacts and associates.
Preesha found chop chop sisters busy among themselves.
Preesha (im) - I shouldn't have come here. I should have been with Saransh. I don't even know anyone here.
Rudra looked around only to find her siting alone.
Rudra(im) - Maa should have come with us. But Saransh ....
I looked at Bhabs and Mishka who were busy in their world.
My trance was broken when one of Kirti's associates wanted to meet Preesha.
I couldn't say no.
***********************
Rudra - come, I want to introduce you to someone.
Preesha - introduce me?
Rudra - yeah, one of Kirti's associates. They want to meet 'my wife'.
Preesha - but ..
Rudra - see I don't want any drama here.
So please.... cooperate.
Preesha - ok....
Preesha (im) - He really wants me to introduce to the associates. I was in shock and surprise.
Rudra (im) - at least she will not feel alone now. I'll be with her for sometime.
I circled my arm around her waist.
Preesha (im) - I could feel jitters around my body. I remember how he used to cage my waist and introduce me as his wife.
A bright smile appeared on my face automatically.
Rudra (im) - how I miss claiming her as mine. Every time I used to hold her it used to give a feeling of completeness.
I smiled remembering our old times.
Rudra introduce Preesha to their associates.
************************************
Few minutes later.
Rudra (im) - I rolled my eyes everywhere to find her. She was nowhere.
I looked around again but couldn't find a glimpse of her. My heart started beating faster
There she was seated on the same table few minutes ago.
I excused myself and looked for her in the hall.
I asked one of the waiters and got to know that she went to washroom.
I sigh in a bit relief but my wanted to confirm if she is fine. I silently made a move towards washroom.
I finally found her.
My heart ran at normal speed now.
Rudra - what are you doing here?
Preesha (im) - oh god, how am I going to tell him now?
Rudra - come on, speak up.
Preesha - I wanted to use washroom.
Rudra - if you are done then come let's go.
Preesha - no.
Rudra - what?
Preesha (im) - I pointed at my waist.
Preesha - my waist chain got stuck in the curtain.
Rudra (im) - I rolled my eyes down at her waist and then at the netted curtain.
It has beads and her waist chain had badly got stuck in it.
Rudra - how can you get stuck.... I mean....you should be careful.
I roared at her.
Preesha - I have not done it purposely. I am not mad to do so. I don't know how it got stuck.
Rudra - what were you playing dandiya with the curtains?
Preesha - I told you I don't know how it happened. Can you please send Ahana or Mishka?
Rudra - and you think they are going to help you?
Preesha - then call someone else, call Kirti.
Rudra - she is busy in the party.
Preesha - then can you please ask someone else to help me....i tried but it got stuck so badly.....
Rudra (im) - why can't see ask me for help? Huh, attitude.
Preesha - Rudra...please do something.
Rudra - I'll help ....
Rudra (im) - seriously, I am so mad at her. First, she got her waist chain stuck in this stupid curtain and not even asking for me to help.
Preesha (im) - Seriously, he wants to help? If I would have asked for his help I thought he may not like it since we...
Rudra - Will you stand straight....
She nodded.
Preesha (im) - He sat on his knees. I closed my eyes as soon as he touched my waist.
Rudra (im) - she had her eyes closed tightly. I skipped a bit as soon as I touched the soft skin.
I started to detangle her waist chain from the curtain.
Preesha - done?
Rudra - I have just started...and will you please stand straight and keep quiet. Let me concentrate.
Preesha - hmm....
Rudra (im) - damn it's so complicated. Such a stupid girl. What was she doing with this curtain?
Preesha (im) - I shouldn't had wore it at first place. But it matched with the dress....
Rudra - damn...
Preesha - what happened?
Rudra - the small beads of your waist chain are tangled with the beads of this stupid netted curtain.
Preesha - now?
Rudra - you will have to take curtain with you.
He chuckled.
Preesha - please....
Rudra - I am trying ok, don't get so mad at me. It's more complicated than maths.
Preesha - please do it fast....
Rudra (im) - fast as if I am some expert. I can't believe how can someone be so stupid.
Preesha (im) - I hope he manages to get it out.
Rudra - sorry, it's not happening. I will have to break your chain.
Preesha - what? No ...
Rudra - we don't have any other option.
Preesha - please try...don't break it please.
Rudra - see I have tried my best. I'll have to break it otherwise you are stuck her forever.
Preesha - please, Rudra. See my dupatta. This waist chain is tied around my dupatta. It the chain breaks my dupatta will fall off. The chain is holding my dupatta.
Rudra - oh god, why are so complicated?
First, this stupid waist chain and now your dupatta. Why does it always happens with you?
Preesha - I am not mad to do it for myself, ok. I said I don't know how it got stuck. I would have tugged my dupatta in other way if I would have known that this is going to happen.
Rudra - I don't know anything I am breaking it.
Preesha - Rudra please ....
Rudra - one minute.
Rudra (im) - I remember I have something that can help her.
I quickly checked my wallet and found a safety pin in it.
Rudra - this .....
Preesha - safety pin.....
Preesha (im) - I instantly remember that incident. When the button of my blouse came off and he ...
I pressed my lips tightly to control my smile.
Rudra (im) - ok, I remember. The safety pin.
I was almost about to smile but....
Preesha - you have a safety pin! Since when?
Rudra - yes, I carry a pin because I know you will end up needing it some way or the other. You are so prone to durghatnas that I had to carry.
Preesha (im) - huh, will never stop taunting me.
Rudra (im) - she made a face, she definitely didn't like my taunt but I had to pat my back for actually carrying s safety pin.
Preesha - what are you going to do with it?
Rudra - Simple, I will break the chain and you can tie your dupatta with this pin.
Preesha - but why do you want to break the chain?
Rudra - because that's the only option we have.
Preesha - please...don't break it. It's very precious.
Rudra - what's so precious in it? It's just a waist chain.
Preesha (im) - it's Mahima Akka's waist chain. I don't want to break it.
Rudra - I am breaking the chain....
Preesha - No Rudra. Please understand it is very precious for me. It has traditional touch to it. We got it made from family jewelers in Chennai. It's customised and precious too.
Rudra - Really? You can get it repaired afterwards or I'll buy a new one for you.
Preesha - No, please. It has memories attached with it. Please can you once try to get it out...if it doesn't work ....you can then...
Rudra - ok, fine. Last attempt.
She nodded.
Rudra (im) - fine, I only have one option now.
I sat down and took a deep breath.
I started to break the beads of the curtain with my teeth.
Preesha (im) - I could feel it. He was close.
Rudra (im) - finally I managed to break the beads of the curtain. The curtain had torn a bit.
Rudra - done, happy? Your dupatta and your waist chain both at safe.
Preesha - thanks.
Preesha (im) - you are truly my saviour, Rudra.
Rudra (im) - I had to do it, she wanted the chain to be safe.
Rudra - shall we go now?
Preesha (im) - I stood there. I didn't move as i don't want to go.
Rudra - what? Come now....
Preesha - I want to go home....
Rudra (im) - I should have thought about it.
Preesha - Please don't misunderstand me but I am feeling bit awkward here. I don't know anyone here. Also, I don't like to dance I don't even know how to play dandiya. I want to go home.
Rudra - Fine, I'll drop you.
Preesha - No, I'll manage. I'll go by cab. You go and enjoy....
Rudra - I said it will drop you.
Preesha - ok.
They reached home.
Preesha - thanks.
Rudra - wait.
Rudra parked the car.
Rudra - come...
Preesha - aren't you going back?
Rudra - no....
Preesha - why?
Rudra - because I don't feel like....
Preesha - and Kirti?
Rudra - that's my lookout, you don't worry. I'll manage. Come let's go in....
