Tarabai in Barrister Babu

Wasn't Shagufta Ali ji supposed to play Tarabai ? There was a BTS pic as well, with Shagufta Ali in a Bengali saree, dressed like Tarabai (bengali style) & looking scary with big bindi 😂.

Why did they change the casting? It's Alka Kaushal ji now - but without the Bengali style costumes. She's a good actor too, but I thought Shagufta Ali had started shooting !

Any idea why there was this casting change?

And I guess there was an article too, with Shagufta's interview as well.

It quoted her that she said yes for the show / Tarabai's role because she has known the makers Shashi Summet for many years !

What happened then?

I have seen somewhere in insta that stated she was replaced by the current actress who is playing tarabai...
