Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam doon. Arguably the greatest show in Indian Television history in terms of popularity /craze. Content wise bhi hota but the ITV destruction virus caught and then was not good enough. Of course social media and digital things helped but the craze during that time was unreal. Never before seen stuff. The popularity is so so much that you can understand it being banned. It will be a clear one sided rout if IPK is allowed. It has been dubbed in 20+ languages and showed in 30+ countries if i am not wrong. There were 2 sequels also with same name but as expected didnt even reach 10% of that craze. The show is so popular that since 2012 (when it ended), Star plus has showed at least 10 reruns of this show on TV. And not just star utsav but on main Star plus channel. Male lead Barun became an overnight TV Mega sensation from a Meme/Gif that he did in his last show :P

In my 20 years of watching indian TV never have i seen a TV show which was forced to shut down because the fans couldn't accept a replacement hero. The main hero left for bollywood so they were making way for a replacement hero/character but the fans outrage didn't let them do that.

If i remember correctly during the end Star plus showed a message that hero is leaving for bollywood so we are closing the show. Never in my life seen something like that. 🤣
