Choosing parivaar is prem's choice given how he brought up. So, it is right according to him. But making decisions solely without consulting his better half is wrong in my opinion but may be right according to him.
I don't know Preeti well enough to deduce why she accepts everything kindly at any given situation since she doesn't even talk that much in the movie.
Such a silly and overly long stretched film with too many characters (who were all mostly 2D and predictable)...
