I was thinking exactly the same thing....and like I have said before...none of us are any better...all of us will do nepotism if we get a chance...I am not talking about Mother Teresas here who are exceptions...but when did exception make a rule...I am talking about normal people who will promote our own...nothing wrong if you are not harassing others in the process...

But this false recommendations of a daycare is wrong both legally and ethically.....what if a her day care is not good enough and someone puts their child over there after reading the recommendations...its about little kids....how can you do that....recommendations are taken very seriously here in USA....these people who did it...are morally bankrupt people and they have the call to call out others.🤢

That's like review farming, could be illegal too. She might get into the legal problem if someone complained to authority.

Frequently happen on Amazon. Vendor sends buyer a free item for positive reviews. Not illegal but there might be repercussion when it comes to day care.

Fake reviews are infact illegal in the US under the Consumer Protection Act. It is akin to misleading a customer into a purchase. Many businesses have been fined with the highest being $3.6 million. Jail term is also possible but nobody has been given that yet in the US. In other countries, yes.

That said considering she didn't write those herself or paid someone to do it, its hard to make a legal case out of it. But, if consumers see 1400 5 star reviews only, they'll know its fake and will avoid the business anyways. BBB & sites like YELP BLACKLIST such business and warn their customers to stay away from it. She kinda shot herself in the foot.
