Delhi allows reopening of cinemas from Oct 15 2020

The Delhi government on Wednesday permitted reopening of cinemas, theatres and multiplexes with up to 50 per cent of their seating capacity from October 15.

According to an order issued by the Delhi Disaster Management Authority, such establishments will remain closed in COVID-19 containment zones in the city.

The DDMA also allowed all weekly markets to function with immediate effect.

Until now, only two such markets were being allowed in every municipal zone every day.

Taking to Twitter, Chief Minister Arvind Kejrjiwal said that cinema halls will be allowed to reopen from October 15 and they will have to follow all guidelines issued by the central government.

The coronavirus-induced countrywide lockdown was first announced from March 25 and it was extended in phases till May 31. The Unlock process in the country had begun on June 1 with the graded reopening of commercial, social, religious and other activities.

What will they show though? No one will go to theaters to watch Anniepie's Khaali Peeli.

I think people are bored staying indoors. They will go and watch just for the heck of it maybe 😆

Nah....not happening with only 50% occupancy with one seat gap between two people watching the movie. That'll be weird for a family or friends outing. Of course nobody cares about social distancing, but movie should be worth watching as well.

Whether it's a big movie or small, the gaps between seats will be a turn off for audience.

True.. but looking at people flock to restaurants during pandemic makes me feel people are just ITCHING for an outing. Any outing... I personally wouldn’t go anymwherr but I’m amazed that people can eat outside food at a public place in a pandemic😲

Let's see.😆If audience comes to theaters, then Bollywood and it's minions would say "In Your face" to the boycott gang.😆But if it doesn't, then they'll just blame the pandemic.😆

I support this. Things have to get back to normal eventually otherwise before Covid, gareebi and bekaari will eat the mankind up.
