Why can't Daksh detect adi naagin?

We know Daksh has a strong smelling power and he has the ability to detect serpents. But he is unable to smell Bani and know her real identity. What can be the reason? Is it because Bani is sarvastrest adi naagin/the greatest and the oldest serpent?

Bani has been blessed with the ability to hide her smell & identity from her enemies. She's the first & oldest Naagin, she has got her share of privileges.
