So Shravan will become Major Shravan Malhotra and Suman will be Captain Suman Tiwari.

If both start out at the same time and both are as capable then shouldn't both be in the same rank. Shravan is going to be Suman's superior according to rank. Did Suman start her army training late or is Shravan so good that he has a higher rank

I think suman army training will start late because suman will have to clear CDS exam (she can't appear for NDA as NDA is only for men )CDS exam one can appear after completing graduation .whereas shravan can go for NDA directly after 12th or he can go for CDS exam after graduation.or if he goes for nda then in his whole study and training period he will be graduating from nda and getting his officers training.

So by the time it's last year or shravan completes his studies in NDA becomes a lt. Suman 's study will start .

I don't what cvs will show here.

I think some of us had discussed it in a thread a while back.

If it is indeed a 7 year leap, things don't fit ideally like that in a real world scenario. As in you require a service tenure of at least 4-6 years to become a major. So 4 years of training and 4-6 added brings us to a 8-10 years at least.

Given we ignore that and/or Shravan getting an exception, he still can be and most prolly be ranks up since women can apply in the army only after their graduation. Which gives Shravan a headstart of 3 years already wrt Sumo.

If they go along the medical route of her joining the army medical college, cadets passing out after 5.5 years can serve short service commission or a permanent one and can be assigned the rank of a Captain in as early as a year. So a total of 6.5 (again provided no backlogs or other difficulties)

All a thing of ifs and buts really😆 But in a situation as this I think the boys would have an advantage and have the same rank earlier in their career.

And again it's a show so they can have creative liberty. Dekhte hai kya dikhate hai😆

If suman was a guy she def would have gotten promoted as fast as shravan, its the same problem everywhere in the world in the military women even if better then the men have to work harder and longer to get the same position as their male counterparts.

So what did we conclude in the end?

The only reason why Suman is a Captain is because of her MBBS route while Shravan only did bachelor?

MBBS is also a bachelor's degree. After graduating from AFMC, you get selected either for SSC or PC.

Medical route - 5.5 + 1(at least) = 6.5 tentative yrs to hold the rank of Captain

Regular route - Graduation 3 years + Training 4 + 2 (minimum service) = 9 tentative yrs to hold the rank of Captain

Whereas for Shravan it'll be

Training 4 years + 4-6 yrs (minimum service) = 8-10 tentative yrs to hold the rank of Major

They're gonna fit kheecha taani karke anyway😆 But so far Suman's will go the closest to reality if they show her in the AMC. And could show Shravan getting an early promotion as an exception.

Yeah, for the exception part, I'm pretty sure dedication is also a huge factor.
