Have you ever heard about a place called rehabilitation and de addiction center? It is made specifically for people addicted to drugs and alcohol. People are admitted for substance abuse. They work under the legal framework. They help these people to reintegrate into society without the fear of relapse. We need more of these centers in this country than arresting people for consuming few grams of product.

The best way to finish drug cartel world wide is making each and every substance users deaddicted. If there are no consumers, illegal narcotics trade would finish. But this is not possible as drug trade is as old as human civilization. People have always consumed intoxicating substances from the dawn of mankind.

We need to know why youth is more attracted to smoking, alcohol and weed? I have seen more than fair share of addicts in my life.

Agreed. I never said people should not get help. All I’m saying is that if you committed a crime, IF. Then you need to held accountable as well

These people are so called “self proclaimed icons” for the youth, highest amount of accountability is on them.

This is so frustrating. This looks like politically motivated targeted investigations and “blind” gossip slinging at people the government/RepublicTV don’t like. An actress goes on TV and claims she was addicted to hard drugs and she gets government paid protection officers. Another actress goes to a demonstration the government doesn’t like and is now being vilified as a drug “addict“ for -maybe- using hash 3 years ago. Tempest in a teapot.

Marijuana is not a hard drug. It’s not even a particularly dangerous drug. There are lots of legal drugs on the shelves of every drugstore that are far more dangerous. Indians have used ganja, charas, and bhaang for probably thousands of years. It’s mentioned in the vedas. The ancient Chinese used it. It’s illegal because the US forced India to criminalize it. Before 1985 the Indian government actively fought to keep it legal because it was recognized as part of Indian culture and religion.
