I am not countering you here but I am curious because my mom was once robbed in such a way that hypnotism could be the only possible explanation... That was around 16 years ago in Bangalore. . It was not by a godman though.. A stranger.. And my mom being very strong psychologically
Hypnosis is power of suggestion so is NLP=neuro linguistic programming.
You might have seen stage hypnosis for eg they suggest to a guy that you’re a dog and he starts acting like one and that’s just the surface level. You don’t even need to be put in a trance for it to work.
Have you ever been influenced by someone? Then your subconscious accepted their suggestion. They work on the subconscious mind directly so it passes your critical conscious mind.
People go to hypnotists to get rid of a negative belief and instill a positive one like from smoking to not smoking because conscious effort is useless. So it’s not about mental toughness but more about being aware and knowing about it then when you hear it you’ll know what they’re doing.
Gurus like sadhguru have accessed some powers, they call it siddhis. They can use these powers to influence and attract a big crowd and make them believe whatever they want. They’ll say some statements that you’ve to agree with making him right then he’ll seep in his suggestion making you believe that the previous one was true so this must be true too. The more you invest the more you’re trapped that’s how cults work.
He’s also a copy cat of osho. All his teachings are taken from him but osho was way ahead of him.
There’re many teachers who teach hypnosis. It started with milton ericson so if you’re really interested then I can recommend specific programs but you’ve to do them.
