Whether sympathy card or not, most of the people protested against the media trial and mobbing.. they asked for a fair trial which isn't wrong.. even if Rhea is guilty, getting a fair trial is her right which the likes of Arnab are taking away from her.. they or the SM warriors have no right to declare her guilty.. that's the law enforcement's job

No one had any reason to be jealous of her.. the most BW was silent on the issue just as it should be.. the matter had nothing to do with them.. Rekha wasn't arrested or mobbed.. there was no reason to support when they didn't know the reason behind her husband's suicide

People were different in Rekha’s time, I don’t see the logical reason behind the comparison 

I would understand it if there was a common board which didn’t support Rekha back then and same people in same board are now supporting Rhea

Why on Earth would anyone sympathize with Rekha if her husband was having an EMA when she herself had a full fledged khule aam affair with a married man not too long ago.. Jo usne dusre k saath kia uske saath hua.. she does not warrant sympathy for that

Yes, her being declared national camp was wrong but even that did not stick and the tides smoothed out soon enough

1. There was no social media back then.

2. We are more brainwashed and news is sensationalised much more. More people have access to spew venom, conspiracy theories etc.

3. It was a different era back then. The way of thinking isn’t comparable. People were happy even when Dharmendra married Hema Malini when he already had a wife.

4. People are also trying to do this as many of them got bashed due to the nepotism issue. They are vicariously playing the victim card.

5. The media has inadvertently destroyed SSR’s case. They are just looking for a lamb to slaughter at this point. Justice has gone out of the window.

6. They have nothing in abetment of suicide case so now the focus is on drugs.

7. The media doesn’t want to show relevant issues like Covid-19 and economy of the country.

Her husband had chronic depression which ran in the family and displayed erratic behaviour after marriage. She didn’t find out until after she got married.

For any newly wed woman it would have been a scary experience .

Undoubtedly must be scary.. and she deserves sympathy for that.. she deserves sympathy for being called national vamp too.. but no sympathy if her husband had an EMA 

A woman whose husband dies just after marriage is already a witch in the eyes of the society. May be she had forgotten to put sidoor one day or didn’t fast on karwa chauth😆

Standing with Rekha meant standing against the MahaNayak, Angry young man Amitabh.  And who in their right mind would want that kind of challenge? Amitabh had no competition for a long time, till the Khans arrived. He was the one and only blockbuster HERO.

About rumours spreading, it’s been common since people learnt to speak. Normally, if people are insecure about themselves, or have some shortcoming, they try to cover it up by spreading rumours. Incase of a marriage or a relationship it’s very common. When a divorce case is filed, say even in a middle/upper middle class family. People start spreading things, most of which are either exaggerated or false.

In an Indian scenario, this happens more because a failure in relationship is considered as a personal failure or a major flaw in the personality. So rumours and blame game is inevitable.

Incase if someone in the family commits suicide, especially in a man’s case. It has to be his wife or the woman he is dating. She didn’t care enough for him, wasn’t good for him etc. How many people stood up for Jiah, Pratyusha or Nafisa Joseph. In those cases it was clearly indicated the ex fiance/ bf is to blamed. Jiah Khan has mentioned in her letter that he had raped and abused her. The letter was tweeted by her mother.
