Urine is a toxic waste that's why it's discarded from the body.
Not sure where this place is where everyone is giving urine to drink on funerals and childbirth 😕
Not everyone, but who attend the funerals on day one, and than during childbirth everyone is involved.
No seriously, you guys have no knowledge about it?
I think it is a common knowledge among people about the usage of cow urine in rituals.
Toh aise bolo na. "Every hindu" is a huge false generalization, I can assure you every single Hindu in this world hasn't consumed that. 😆Originally posted by: RegressiveThug

Anyways every hindu in this thread must have had gaumutra in their life time, so let's not go eww eww. We all have had.
No. Extremely wrong assumption. Most people nowadays don't/ didnt have Gaumutra in their lifetimes. Generations ago it was mandatory for Brahmins to have while doing pujas. Nowadays nobody consumes it. During Durga pujo, its kept aside while all the aartis, prayers take place and then thrown away. Same for funerals and other traditional festivals. Its not used for consumption anymore.

Good, I don't get the concept anyways but seriously every funeral when I go for malami(for burning the corpse) not just Brahamins, during the 13th or whatever day they come out of Shraddh we had to consume guamutra as purification.
Whether it was Bengali, Nepali or Bihari funeral.
In the funerals I've been to women aren't even allowed when the burning of corpse is done so idk if men drink it, I don't think they do but I wouldn't know as I haven't been there. Hopefully someone can chime in and confirm.Originally posted by: RegressiveThug

Women aren't allowed, but women of he family do perform the ritual of fasting. So when fasting ends they have to have the gaumutra as a way of spiritual cleansing or whatever it is called.
Now if rituals are getting tweaked, than maybe, but if people are going by rituals they have to consume it.
See, I am not advocating it, I am just saying it is a reality in India, and not really as disgusting as people are thinking.
Ah okay. Either way, not everyone does that, so saying every Hindu was wrong that's all.Originally posted by: RegressiveThug

I haven't seen the women of the family consuming urine after fasting either. They just ate food after it was done.
But yeah it must be different in some other places

Yes, Shraddh, we it is pronounced as sharad in Nepali.
Cow urine is used during death and child birth.
Have heard of such traditions, but haven't come face to face of participating in them!
Guess it was back in the day or probably certain regions!
We celebrate shraadh but mostly cooking and offering food to ancestors - No Gaumutra or such neither during death nor childbirth!
Omg why this world is going crazy! I think I will go mental seeing this kind of things in SM I need to log off!
🤬 Jisko mann mein jo aye hai!
Kal kohi aur ayega bolega for health reason I eat my own shit everyday!
