For the first time, Kunal actually spent time with Kuhu ensuring she had his undivided attention. Given the serious track we have for MishBir with BenBa being upset, I like the sunshine that KuhuNal are bringing in. IMO, the CVs, I think are trying to find the rhythmn for KuhuNal. Kuhu is the one who is expressive in the relationship, Kunal has always been subtle about it. Finally we have him explicitly putting Kuhu at priority. She is trying to be a little extra as always and Kunal for me is trying to play along with it - which paves way for the banter. Again, I know the earlier version of Kunal used the words childish and dumb to put Kuhu down and hurt her emotionally. But this Kunal is not the earlier Kunal. I love that they addressed the not ready to have kids part - this was such a real conversation where both of them expressed their feelings about having children. I am willing to give the CVs the chance to find their character's rhythmn. But I won't have them flipping Kuhu like toast to suit their masala needs of the show.

I like how hopeful you are, and I hope you are right!

I would like to apologise to everyone for giving the idea that the scene wasn't written nicely. It was, and the writing of that scene was very KuKu. My issue with these scenes is that it feels like we are supposed to see them in isolation, and not as part of the whole narrative. Kuhu-Kunal and family have always gone hand in hand and that doesn't seem to be the case anymore.

The old Kunal used to call her childish and dumb when he was trying to get rid of her. After their second marriage, he used those words only when he put in the effort of listening to her or when he was very annoyed. He didn't use it in every scene. This Kunal does. Also, the old Kunal admired his wife for all that she did. It may be because of how Ritvik decided to portray the character so that he had these underlying traits, and Avinash only performs what is given in the script. Quoting a friend who said this better: "He (Ritvik) took all these tiny, disparate little pieces the writers were throwing him and he wove them together into a coherent human being". I have to agree that you are right. This Kunal is not the earlier Kunal😒.

The kids bit was my favourite too, and they had that conversation so effortlessly, without making a big deal out of it. Just a simple, "Mai abhi ready nahi hoon" and Kunal being supportive. I swear! If someone just gave me the whole scene in writing, that'll be enough for me. I don't need them performing the scenes anymore. I would be absolutely content reading the script and imagining the old Kunal and Kuhu.

@Bold: I just really liked those lines.

The kids convo, I too loved it. I am happy that Kunal and Kuhu performed nicely. But main issue is the connectivity the characters had earlier. Kuhu character is already butchered many times as per track. She might be little immature but nowadays she is shown as a kid. I have no idea why even her voice sounds like a kid earlier it was not shown like this. I definitely see some sort of chemistry between Avinash and Kaveri. But my concern is poor characterization and changing character traits in every episode. Not only Kuhu and Kunal, even many characters like Abir, Varsha, Nidhi, Ketu are being butchered. So no more expectations just watching for entertainment also for supporting Kaveri and everyone working in this pandemic.

I have a question. I haven't watched all the episodes so I wanted to ask if Kuhu's behaviour progression has been visible? Is it like "if everyone is going to keep calling me a child, I'll act like one"??

I don't see any progression. In one episode, during karan murder issue, She acted so mature and asked sorry and all to Mishti. Even gave many ideas to solve the murder issue and she is the first one to predict that Varun might be a murderer. Next track, She is shown as kid. No connection at all. Maybe this characterization is required for next track. Its gonna get messy as Meenu is involved. Lets see how it goes!

In the lockdown, so many people got back to watching quality content with OTT platforms and re-runs of Mahabharat and Ramayan on DD. Those had good storyline. Those 3 months were such perfect opportunity to sit back and see what these guys were making and actually experiment, make better content, but these people went in the complete opposite direction.

The old show had so much good, layered story but not anymore😭

Hindi tele will never go back to what DD was before cable tv. Even private channels had high content when they first came to India. But when money comes with even mediocre shows, makers realize it's not necessary to put an effort.

As far as I know, people who affect ratings still watch shows for makeup and dresses otherwise we would have seen ekta realize it before anyone else and change her shows. She knows the audience of OTT and tele are different and that's why look at her content at both places. Producers know that at the end of the day, the core audience will not like something fresh. YRF learnt their lesson and never came back. We who voice our anger online do not matter. Sad but true.

Bcoz one bad bahu and one saintly bahu is needed for the story to progress. That's the limit to the thinking of the writing department. I personally know 2 writers who have worked with Star who said that the channel asked them to bring something new, ratings went down so they were told write saas-bahu fight and voila ratings went up.

There is no character development coz imagine if both Kuhu and Mishti behave like mature married women, they'll have to keep bringing in new villains LOL

Everything you said is so true. I don't even have the heart to deny it. I genuinely think this was a good time to try and experiment but I do see money being the driving force, especially at this stage when all businesses are suffering.

And it hurts bcoz they have talented actors, the writers have shown that they can think of something new but if the producer can see ratings rise only when there is a catfight then that is what they'll show.

I have this idea where for a change online viewership will decide TRPs and then let's see what happens. After that murder track, I was looking forward to happy times but nah -_-

I know!! It does hurt because they had the perfect cast for the story that they had set up in the beginning. There was so much to explore with Mishti and Abir's parentage, the Meenu-Kunal-Parul storyline, how Nidhi-Kaushal and kids integrated in the RV fam but they just keep juicing the conflict between the sisters, and now, there's literally nothing left there. Also, personally, the way the sister's conflict has been handled made me lose all hope because that was my first ship and they made it so blech. There was so much content that they killed themselves, and that is just so sad to see.

Hey, please don't apologize - you were sharing your opinion and I was sharing mine. I agree that the writing has not been consistent and suddenly we have the sisters swooning over modaks and behaving as they were always normal with one another. The sister track also didn't address the insecurities or open the conversation stating how in every step of their lives - the supporting characters have played a role in instilling this insecurity. Also, can someone shut Jasmeet Chachi up ? What is her problem with Mishti? Earlier, I thought she loved Kuhu and was insecure about her place in the family. But now it looks like her opinions do not have anything to do with Kuhu and they seem to be only concentrated on putting Mishti down. Such an insensitive thing to call someone - muhboli. I want someone to shut her down. Varsha was disappointing in friday's episode. Really - even she played the tag of Kunal being Parul's son. This was an all new low. Parul is not garbage, She is human who has contributed as much to keeping the Rajvansh family together. If Meenakshi has gone out and fought the battles, then Parul held the house together. Meenakshi could be the protector but Parul has been the nurturer. This seemed like a classic case of putting down someone who works at home and I did not expect this from Varsha.

I am going to watch the KuhuNal bits and be happy. Not watch some crappy track of the Maheshwaris and Rajvanshs putting down Parul or for that matter this shitty surrogacy track.
