Umm well it matches a bit but this is definitely not the ine. I think the one in my mind is either a patriotic song or some devotional song.

It's from an old Sufi song. It's called Chaap Tilak. There are many renditions of it.

It's a very popular Qawwali from the 14th century called Chaap Tilak. Many Sufi/Qawwali singers have reditioned it including Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, Abida Pervin, Rahat Fateh Ali, etc. There have been many renditions and inspiration from it. This might be one too.
