Criticizing somebody nd disagreeing with them is shaming them?

By that logic some people here are shaming Sreevidya too

Either you don’t know what feminism means or you are one of those people who thinks feminism is some kind of a time pass activity taken up by a few elites just for the heck of it.

@Blue: With all due respect to her, that’s absolutely stupid - not for just taking a dig at her fellow officer Gunjan accusing her of seeking publicity, but also for not understanding how important it is for the girls to hear these stories and get inspired as well as empowered.

They are all crying and whining about IAF being put in the bad light. But nothing puts an institute in a bad light more than its members washing their dirty laundry in the public. They are doing exactly the same thing that they are accusing the Dharma of.

SriVidya, with all due respect, looks fundamentalist to me, who gives clean chit to IAF in all sexism accusation just because SHE did not face any. Very convenient. Yeah there was no sexism in IAF and that's very believable.

See I have a lot of respect for our forces and I do not doubt their patriotism ever...but just because they are air force officers doesn't mean that a FEW of them might not have been a little uncomfortable or even a little insecure of a woman pilot because that was totally considered men's domain....we are talking about 30 years back...when what men can do and women can't do was still a thing.....that Gunjan might have faced a few of these men is not a long stretch by any means...when in the modern day even in 2020 we hear about the horror stories and the glass ceiling.....if someone stands in the Ganga and says that there was no misogynist men in IAF 30 years back...not going to believe it...

The only thing that KJo exaggerated was that strength show or no one talking to her....the rest I will believe.

Gunjan seem to be happy with the final product and doesn’t seem to have any objection... Why not? They seem to have exaggerated her heroics even more at the expense of others. What’s not to like

Years from now the controversy will not be remembered but youngsters who watch it will believe the story

I am a girl and nothing has inspired me more than Gunjan’s story in the recent times, to the point of regretting not knowing this story earlier which could’ve made me consider IAF/Army as another option other than the usual engineering and medicine and all the jazz.

And to add to that, the question of respect comes when we criticize their duty. But as an individual one might or might not be respectful towards women (a generic statement, not limited to the IAF or any professional). Then we should not criticize anyone because their profession is extra-ordinary ? No one, NO ONE is above and beyond any criticism. This excessive hype by RWingers to hold people in pedestals and consider them as God is just Beyond me.

My father or as a matter of fact anyone who belongs to the previous gen can also be sexist, can also be patriarch, because they were part of the same system. That age was different altogether. So it's not a surprise or very hard to believe that there might be few individuals in IAF as well to block Gunjan Saxena. But we cannot blame them as well, can we ? Having a female in their team was for the first time. They too might need time to evolve. Today there is much awareness, in today's time it can be criticized much, but not for our prev gen, at least not in India.

Anyways, I feel the entire controversy is to keep the movie in news. 🤔

Bold - Agree

So why is criticizing Gunjan is sacrilegious (and Dharma productions for some) here is beyond me

She is a hero, so are others... Both sides could be right or wrong or both...

But no body is above criticism as you said

(Didn’t know you have to be a right winger if you disagree )

Where did I say anyone who disagrees is RW ? The entire protest or whatever is going on in support of IAF, is mostly driven by RWs.

Gunjan Saxena is not beyond criticism. Go criticize her all you want. But criticizing her for things like why did she clear the movie, why did she lie etc holds no ground as she's already clarified. Bring up a new issue and criticize her. 👍🏼

Also, when I say this is a paid controversy, I guess it automatically means I am criticizing Dharma as controversies are mostly paid by the Prod house itself. 😆
