No they don't...but what happens is that some talent agencies get the payment from the place their client works and then they cut their commission from it and pay the rest of the amount by another check to the client.....sometimes they can ask the place to send them their commission and pay the client directly.....I haven't gone back to read the whole thread.....which Talent Agency are people talking about?? If its a reputed talent agency....I don't think that they would be in cahoots with anyone...koi choti moti agency ho toh I don't know..

But the most important part is ..why did Sushant have to pay them in the first place....no talent agency asks for money from their talents.....so while we may see a check going to the talent from the agency....it shouldn't be the other way round.

I'm in the US also. I always thought it was a rule of thumb for an actor to NEVER pay a talent agency because if they ask for money upfront, it's a scam. Legitimate talent agencies only take on clients when they know they will get their money back on commissions. But some are saying that this agency is a big, well-known one. So maybe these things are different in India...?

The ones me and you both speak for are the big ones. The way some of these small, dodgy so-called talent agencies operate in India, who even knows? Even if it’s supposedly a well known company, rest assured even they will have under the table dealings. I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s exactly what Rhea took advantage of.
