Amitabh Bachchan was one of the first mainstream actors who took to negative/grey roles and literally created a new genre in the Hindi Cinema of stories with flawed/negative/grey characters. Till then it was only in the Hollywood did a mainstream hero dared to do such a thing.

I personally love SRK and his cinema but to make him the best thing since the peeled potato is a bit stretching it.

The difference between Sha and the rest is the financial aspect. He is a sharp and shrewd biz man, created a huge networth. (Ab maybe an exception but he also lost his savings once upon a time ).

From the top of my head these are the movies that come to my mind but I am sure if you look, there are more. Shakti, Namak Haraam, Parwana, Faraar, Don, Deewaar, Sarkaar, RGV ki Aag...
