Loved it! For me the best movie of the year.
Simple, to the point- that’s how a biopic should be done!
Pankaj Tripathi was excellent, he got some great dialogues too!
I thought Janhvi did very well too!

M so so so happy for Pankaj Tripathi. That man deserves all the love in the world. He is an absolute delight .❤️
Rather an unconventional film to come out of Dharma after a long time. I think the last time I saw this simple of a film from Dharma was Wake Up Sid. I liked the film. Not much of drama, pretty straightforward storyline and very pleasing to the eyes. I liked the balance between fiction and non fiction and the drama and comedy in the film. It was enjoyable. I also don't get the complain regarding very less war in the film given that Gunjan was mainly a rescue pilot and what she did was shown in the film- Evacuate injured soldiers. Nothing more, nothing less.
The best part of the film for me was that the direction was very honest. No unnecessary sensationalizing of the protagonist or showing her as the best thing since sliced bread just because it's a biopic. My favorite scene in the film remains to be the deshbhakti and the kitchen season. So BEAUTIFULLY written and enacted by Pankaj and Janhvi.
Coming to the performances, I quite liked Janhvi in majority of the film. Like NM said, she wasn't great nor was she bad. Thankfully she didn't overact otherwise it would make things worse. But yes, she still has a lot of scope of improvement when it comes to delivering monologues and action sequences. She looked very fragile in the war sequences, as if there's no energy which was quite opposite to her training sequences. Also that whole monologue she gives in that party hall after switching off the music was major cringey. But I loved her in the scenes with Pankaj and also the telephone scenes. Definitely major improvement from Dhadak and Ghost Stories. I am liking her graph, looking forward to what she does in Roohi Afzana.
But the star of the film is obviously Pankaj Tripathi. Where do I even begin about his performance!! Like his performance is a masterclass on learning body language and dialogue delivery. The way he delivers them without any filminess just like how you would see your own dad/mom doing at home, matlab top class! Sacchi mein haisiyat nahi hai to talk about his acting calibre, he is SO SO SO GOOOOOD! And that's the ONLY reason why I wish this film released in theatres. Janhvi ka kya hai,she will keep getting lead roles but this was a rare film for Pankaj as almost a parallel lead and I'm sure the audience would love him!

This!
He was probably cast as a parallel lead but for this movie at least, he was the main draw. Like an Amitabh Bachchan, he became the main lead sheerly through his performance.
And so true about the body language and dialog delivery being like one of our own, like a real parent.I personally was able to see so much of my own dad in him which is perhaps the main reason why I absolutely loved his portrayal even more. All the daughters are surely going to relate to him and love him but I think even the boys are going to adore him.
And I loved how the director didn’t try to snub him by stealing his parts and giving them to Janhvi and forcefully insert her into our faces. That’s why the father daughter scenes came out all organic and relatable.
loved it!!
many scenes you can't hold your tears❤️
father, daughter scenes were love love love!!
special mention to jhanvi....long way you have to go...but the fact you held to your own 👏 work hard, you get opportunities, do not abuse it pls by giving shitting performances. we pay to watch....
i am overwhelmed right now...never expected this one to turn out this good.
please all...watch this one, bheekh maangti hoon mai
thank you

Beautiful movie with a great message. 9/10
Amazing movie..Must watch!
Finally watched it.Decent watch. The supporting cast did so well.Janvi def has improved but she falters badly when there’s some scene where she has to speak. That outburst scene in the Mess was very bad.Otherwise she has improved..her innocence really gives her a lil edge.
Pankaj Tripathi was adorable. And I loved the guy who played the CO..I loved his voice and his acting so good. And also Vineet was pretty awesome.👏
But I have serious issues with the prejudices that has been shown. So so OTT.Theres no way the officers are so narrow minded..maybe by chance 1-2 that too m just being too understanding in saying so.The defence officers are trained to behave in a certain way and they are so respectful towards women so showing almost everyone in bad light was something that I don’t appreciate.Of course bcoz of the changes they may have been a bit annoyed but the behavioural things i.e. the petty things shown is so wrong.I know it’s just a movie and I must und they would obv add some masala but they went too far in showing the prejudices.👎🏼
A very well made biopic with no unwanted masala added. Pankaj Tripathi stole the show. Story and music were the plus points.
Saw it. Actually it's a nice movie. But yes some other talented actress could have aced it.
That scene where gunjan picks up the music player & has a outburst, Jhanvi was horrible there I wonder how the director approved that scene.🤔 What Sara did in love aaj kal was overacting & what jhanvi did here was underacting. She should work hard on emoting & also her dialogue delivery.
And that airforce officers drooling over Pamela Anderson photos & dancing to choli ke peeche was a bit too much. I am not saying she must have not faced prejudice but the portrayal of these male officers could been presented in a better way.
