The movie was nice. Jhanvi did well and Pankaj Tripathi is one of the best things about Bollywood.

Sorry but I think it was this line that made him laugh. If he actually is serious. The movie was not a comedy.

It’s not necessary that only comedy movies should make one laugh. It’s possible for a good serious movie to have some lighter laugh out loud moments.

I laughed out loud in the climax war scenes because they were so atrocious🤣

OK sure. I haven't watched nor do I want to start a debate and help make this thread a hit.

I think Pankaj Tripathi was the only character that needs to be applaued here. He was amazing as usual.👏

Janvi was okay. She still needs vigorous practice to perfect her acting skill. Something about her didn't really convince me in the movie, didn't felt attached to the character.

But all in all movie was inspiring so👏

Watched the film last night... It's a great watch because of how effortless most scenes feel... It seems to be made with good faith and honesty and it shows.. especially in the scenes involving gunjan's family....

It's a simple film..there are no scenes that haunted me after the film or made me cry buckets...but the scenes of Gunjan and her dad did make me tear up every time and I feel this will be true for most girls watching the movie.

The IAF and war portions we're in stark contrast to the rest due to how dramatic it was though... I can see why the IAF has filed a complaint... The other officers come off as bullies and MCPs rather than conservative.

Best performance was pankaj tripathi hands down(no surprise). It was a very understated performance. Jhanvi sincerely does better in her scenes with him. She was no Meryl Streep but it never felt "not enough" at least to me. I was seeing Gunjan and not jhanvi in her act.

Gunjan's mom, brother and all the officers have put out some really good performances too.

Overall a very enjoyable 2 hours...no regrets

Jhanvi will be a star for sure. She got the looks, the style and now her acting has improved so much.

Karan Johar's Dharma Productions had agreed to represent IAF with authenticity & make efforts to ensure the film 'Gunjan Saxena' inspires next generation of IAF officers. Now, IAF has written to CBFC objecting to some scenes & complained against "undue negative portrayal" of IAF

I gather "authenticity" means there wasn't bullying or sexism in the IAF in the 1990s. There's being inspirational and then there's writing fairy tales that ignore the negative parts of reality. Looks like the IAF wanted the latter.

Looks like so as I clearly remember Gunjan herself mentioning in interviews long back what was shown in the film- no ladies toilets, no changing rooms for women, the all men crew worried about whether Gunjan will be able to do it, etc and the same has been shown in the film.
