That's the whole point of the show isn't it? Thinking about stuff that was not even considered in that era? Whenever the thought gained attention we can't deny that, adding husband's surname to the women's after marriage is something which came out of Patriarchy. No matter what he did for her or whatever he will do for her I don't think she should feel obliged to do that. Plus, as I said, even if she chooses to add RC to her name, its still because of the little peck of Patriarchy left in her. And if we go by that theory, Bondita will also play a huge role in Aniruddh's life, she will be his ultimate strength and support so shouldn't Aniruddh accept her surname then?
The Roy Chowdhary surname, which Aniruddh keeps repeating is kind of an encouragement for caste system and if Bondita choose to take his surname, that will also be an indirect way of promoting Patriarchy, just because the thought wasn't considered in that era, it doesn't become right. But then, every characters will have their own flaws and I believe at some point, Aniruddh and Bondita themselves kind of promote these things unknowingly, the same things they stand against.
