I think that she is bringing to front the family viewpoint in this case. My guess is that since the family has limited contacts in bollywood, they looked for someone to represent their side. Ankita is known amongst TV audience, was with him for a long period and most importantly was willing to speak up; thus can bring some credibility.

The family waited for more than a month and probably sensed that the Mumbai police is not pursuing this line of investigation seriously. Hence they got into action.

I’m in no place to judge what motivated her but it is surely a very brave thing to do. She spoke on all channels saying pretty much the same thing and opened the way for many of his friends to speak up.

At the end of the day, all they asked for is an investigation which they are getting now. Hope that the suicide situation gets more clarity now. Unless stupid politics derails it!
