It isn’t holding up. It’s reputation has completely shattered it seems.
I once thought bw films had potential on being more globally impactful, but they have become a joke in my view. I mean sending gully boy to the oscars is a major sign of the lackluster content they put out there and claim it as their best in today’s age. They constantly ignore good content, put it on the back burner only to come to realization of the beauty of it 5 years down the line.

Not only that, this whole nepotism crap..is magnified in this industry. It is prevalent everywhere, but they make it so blatant, it is visibly unprofessional and corrupt.

The talent, our main talent who make up the majority of mainstream cinema don’t seem to reflect potential either.
also there little award shows look more and more like a family gathering rather than a real authentic award ceremony each passing year

Yes, it is.

Things will eventually settle down, but they will not be the same. They can act like nothing changed, but everybody is talking about it behind each other's backs.

The biggies definitely will be more careful because they've seen how fans dig out older videos and how there are people in the industry who are slowly starting to come out and talk about what they have been subjected to.

Also, public criticism will be even more harsher if so called stars don't act well. As it is, they are already being ripped apart.

Yes. Itni buri worldwide humiliation by the jantaa, tsk tsk so embarrassing. Don't think this has ever happened in the history of bollywood. Truly a historical moment. Too bad Sushant had to die for this to happen though 😭💔

Bollywood ek entertainment industry hain..Abhi jo log naaraz hain woh bollywood ko apne entertainment ka sadhan samjate hain. Be celebs ko troll karna unka mazak banaana ek entertainment hai. Politics n bw sirf aisi Industry hai jo koi bhi aire gaire ko limelight de deti hain. Sabhi muh uthake limelight and attention ke liye baat karte hai. Logonka bw ka obsession life bhar nahi chootega kyunki uske alwa unke paas koi chara nahi hai.

Indian Middle class log malls pe jaana afford nahi kar sakte, amusement park jaana afford nahi kar sakte par filme jaroor kar sakte hai. Woh ke family outing hota hain unke liye. Jab tak koi option nahi aata log filme dekhte rahenge.

This will pass. Majority of people calling boycott are doing it now; but where are no movies to boycott, theaters aren't even open. It doesn't affect their life or call for any actual action until theaters open.

like someone mentioned, Salman khan had gotten into so much legal trouble yet has that affected his stardom at all, all these years. Everyone knew about it.

Like I said, it's easy to scream boycott when you don't even have the option to go to the theaters. Bollywood is one of the most accessible means of entertainment for the common Indian man. Even holidays have been tied to the release of a film.

Let's see what happens once this Covid era returns back to normal and theaters open up.

Things are definitely not gonna be the same after everything that's happened.

But currently it is at an all time low. Its similar to how things went bad in the music industry from 2000s till date but it hasn't been out in the open unlike films.
