@Bold: this family dynamic is very interesting...something fishy within the family I just feel it.

Something tells me, that the Varun's mum is hiding something serious about Karan from everyone including Varun himself (or maybe he is that good at hiding and acting). I feel like the proposal of Ketki's rishta at the Soni family had caused some issue amongst them.

To explain better; let me share a super mind-blowing prediction by my mum after watching last week episode: She said..

-The way Varun repeatedly talks about his relationship with his brother, the love he has and what he's lost, makes me wonder whether he is putting up an act infront of everyone - is over compensating now, but in reality when Karan and Varun did not get along all that well?

-Perhaps Varun's love for Karan is true genuine, but not reciprocated equally by Karan. It's possible that Karan was not fond of Varun for whatever reason. And to add to that, Ketki's rishta may have initially come for Karan instead; But Varun liked her more and so the rishta got swapped? Or maybe Karan really liked Ketki, but was upset/jealous that the rishta came for Varun instead. That could have lead to a fight/argument at Soni house causing rift between brothers? And finally leading to:

Karan getting drunk that night...stumbling upon Mishti etc etc.

-So now over the 3 month courtship perhaps Varun has unintentionally actually fallen for Ketki (and maybe he he truly doesn't know how his brother died), but Varun's mom knows and tried to talk Karan out of his anger but failed to. So maybe Varun's mum is the one who has twisted the story, broken the news to Varun about his brother's death and now he is convinced that Mishti+Abir are the culprit. But Nimmi as we can see her conservative, regressive mind is trying to trap mishbir by using Varun-Ketki's marriage, and put Karan's death blame on Mishti.
